 Reflection on Ephesians 3:20

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us of God's abundant power and His ability to exceed our expectations. The verse says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”It's a beautiful promise that God doesn’t just give us what we ask for, but He goes beyond what we can even imagine or dream.

This verse teaches us the importance of patience and trust in God's timing. We might find ourselves praying for certain things—whether it’s for a new job, healing, peace, or even relationships to be restored. But God often has plans that are far bigger than our own understanding. He knows exactly what we need, and in His perfect timing, He gives us more than we could ever ask for. His ways are higher than our ways.

For example, you may be praying for a job, but God might be preparing an opportunity that’s even better than what you thought possible. Or you might be seeking peace in your home, and through patience and faith, God brings a deeper, more lasting peace than you expected.

We can apply this verse to our lives by surrendering our expectations and trusting that God is working in ways we might not fully see yet. He may not always answer our prayers immediately, but He is always working for our good and His glory.

When we face seasons of waiting, let this verse remind us to keep trusting, knowing that God is at work within us and will bring more than we could ask or imagine.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your incredible promise that You can do more than we could ask or imagine. Help us to trust in Your timing and have patience as we wait for You to move in our lives. We surrender our desires to You, knowing that Your plan is always better than our own. Strengthen our faith and give us the courage to walk with You, even in the waiting. In Jesus' name, Amen.
