Keep Planting: Your Harvest is Coming

"Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well." — Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NIV)

Have you ever poured your heart into something—prayed, worked, believed—and felt like nothing was happening? It’s easy to grow discouraged when results seem delayed or when we don’t see immediate fruit from our efforts. But Ecclesiastes 11:6 encourages us to keep planting, keep believing, and keep moving forward, even when we don’t yet see the harvest.

Faithful Planting Leads to Fruitful Harvests

Farmers don’t plant seeds and expect an instant harvest. They understand that growth takes time, requiring patience, care, and trust in the unseen process happening beneath the soil. The same is true in our lives. Whether we are sowing seeds of faith, love, kindness, generosity, or hard work, God is working behind the scenes. Even when we don’t see the results yet, we can trust that He is faithful to bring the increase in His perfect time.

Every prayer you pray, every act of obedience, every step of faith is a seed planted. Some seeds will sprout quickly, while others may take months or even years to bear fruit. But nothing done for God is ever wasted. He sees your efforts, your faithfulness, and your persistence, and He promises that in due season, you will reap a harvest if you don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).

Don’t Fear the Unknown—Trust God’s Timing

This verse also reminds us not to let fear hold us back. Sometimes, we hesitate to take a step of faith because we’re afraid it won’t work out. But Ecclesiastes 11:6 encourages us to keep sowing, not just in the morning but in the evening as well. Why? Because we don’t always know which seeds will flourish—but God does. Our job is to plant in faith; His job is to bring the harvest.

So, keep going. Keep loving. Keep serving. Keep praying. Keep believing. The seeds you are planting today will bring a harvest in the right season. God is faithful, and He will not let your labor be in vain.

A Prayer for Strength to Keep Sowing

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that my efforts in faith are not wasted. Help me to trust Your timing and to keep planting seeds of love, kindness, and faithfulness, even when I don’t see immediate results. Strengthen my heart when I feel weary, and remind me that You are always at work. I place my trust in You, knowing that in due season, my harvest will come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
