Verse Of The Day - ISAIAH 43:16-19
A Reflection on Isaiah 43:16-19
Life often brings us to places where we feel trapped—situations that seem impossible, challenges that appear too great to overcome. In these moments, doubt can creep in, and we may wonder if there’s any way forward. But Isaiah 43:16-19 reminds us that God is a way-maker, a miracle-worker who specializes in doing the impossible.
This passage begins by recalling God's mighty work in delivering Israel through the Red Sea. When the Israelites stood before the waters with the Egyptian army closing in behind them, they saw no escape. But God made a way where there was no way—He parted the sea, allowing them to cross on dry ground.
Then, God shifts our focus: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” (v. 18-19). While it’s important to remember God’s faithfulness in the past, He calls us to look forward. He is always at work, bringing fresh provision, new opportunities, and unexpected solutions. Even in the wilderness—places of uncertainty, dryness, and struggle—God promises to create streams of life and provision.
Trusting God’s Path
It’s easy to feel discouraged when we don’t see a way out. But God’s ways are beyond our understanding. He often works in ways we don’t expect, opening doors we never considered and leading us through paths we wouldn’t have chosen. The key is to trust Him.
Are you facing an impossible situation today? A financial burden, a broken relationship, a difficult decision? Remember that God is still in control. Just as He made a way for Israel, He will make a way for you. It may not look how you expect, but His plans are always for your good.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being the God who makes a way when I see no way. Help me to trust You in the wilderness seasons of my life. Open my eyes to the new things You are doing, and give me faith to follow Your lead. I believe that You are working behind the scenes, and in Your perfect timing, You will make a way for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
