Former Grey’s Anatomy Actress Laura Ann Tull Sparks Controversy After Eric Dane’s Death

Los Angeles, CA — Former Grey’s Anatomy background actress Laura Ann Tull is at the center of online attention after making a series of claims about late actor Eric Dane just days after news of his passing spread across social media.

Eric Dane, widely known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan, or “McSteamy” to fans, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 53 following a yearlong battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His death drew widespread sympathy, but Tull’s recent posts have stirred both shock and debate among fans.

Allegations of Bullying and Harassment

In posts on the social platform Threads, Tull shared her experiences on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, alleging that Dane mistreated and bullied her during her time as a background performer. She referred to him as a “bully” and a “narcissist,” claiming his behavior caused long-term professional and personal challenges, especially during periods when she was dealing with health issues, including cancer and an autoimmune condition.

Tull stated that Dane “mocked” her behind her back, leaving lasting emotional damage that she claims persists even after his passing. She also described him as difficult to work with and critical toward others on set.

Claims About Eric Dane’s Departure from Grey’s Anatomy

Tull further suggested that she played a role in events leading to Dane’s exit from the series in 2012. She said she contacted the office of Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes shortly before Dane’s departure was publicly announced and believes her report influenced the decision.

Industry experts, however, caution that cast changes are usually decided months in advance. There is currently no independent confirmation linking Tull’s claims to Dane’s exit, which was reported at the time to be driven by creative direction and contract negotiations.

Public Reaction and Unverified Claims

Tull’s posts have triggered debate online. Some social media users have supported her right to share her experiences, while others have questioned the accuracy of her claims, noting that she does not provide verifiable evidence and was not a lead cast member on the show.

As of now, neither ABC, Shondaland, nor Eric Dane’s representatives have publicly commented on the allegations.

Remembering Eric Dane’s Legacy

Despite the controversy, many fans continue to honor Eric Dane’s career. His portrayal of Dr. Mark Sloan from 2006 to 2012 earned him lasting recognition. In recent years, Dane was also an advocate for ALS awareness, openly discussing his diagnosis and helping raise awareness about the disease prior to his passing.
