Major Terror Plot Foiled: NYPD Arrests Radicalized Teenagers Planning Explosives Attack on Mayor's Residence.

NEW YORK, NY — A catastrophic tragedy on American soil has been narrowly avoided thanks to the rapid intervention of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and the NYPD. Authorities have announced the arrest of two teenagers, ages 18 and 19, who were in the advanced stages of plotting a massive explosives attack targeting highly populated areas in New York City, including Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor.

The chilling details released by federal prosecutors reveal that this was not an empty threat. The teenage suspects had acquired materials to construct improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and were actively scouting locations. However, the most alarming aspect of the investigation is how the plot originated: the teenagers were entirely self-radicalized online from the comfort of their own bedrooms.

Investigators found that the suspects had been consuming heavy amounts of ISIS-inspired propaganda videos, encrypted chat room discussions, and extremist literature on the dark web. They were groomed and instructed by overseas operatives digitally, without ever leaving the country.

"This case is a terrifying reminder of the invisible threat lurking on our children's smartphones and laptops," stated the NYPD Commissioner during a press briefing. "These were local high school students who were radicalized through a screen, turning them into domestic terrorists ready to commit mass murder."

Law enforcement is using this near-miss to issue an urgent plea to all parents and guardians. Officials emphasize that monitoring a teenager's digital footprint, recognizing sudden shifts in ideology or secretive online behavior, and maintaining open communication are critical steps in preventing digital radicalization.
