A Prayer for July: Starting the Month with Faith

A gentle prayer to welcome this new month with hope

There's something sacred about a new month. A page turns, and with it comes a quiet invitation to begin again — to lay down what didn't go the way you planned, and to open your hands to what's ahead.

Before July gets busy, before the calendar fills and the to-do list grows, let's pause. Let's bring this month to God first — not after the plans are made, but before a single day begins.

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."PSALM 118:24

Every month is a gift, even the ones that feel heavy before they've even started. If you're stepping into July carrying tiredness, uncertainty, or a heart that's still healing from the last season — you are not behind. You are exactly where grace can meet you.

A Prayer for July

Lord, I bring this month to You before it even begins.

Thank You for the days behind me — the ones that were hard and the ones that were good — and thank You for the gift of a fresh 31 days ahead.

I don't know everything July will hold, but I know You do. So I ask You to walk through it with me — in the plans I've made and the ones I haven't, in the moments of joy and the ones that catch me off guard.

Where I need healing, heal me. Where I need direction, guide me. Where I need peace, cover me in it.

Let this be a month where I feel Your nearness more than my noise. Let it be kind to me, Lord — and let me be kind to others, too.

I trust You with July. I trust You with all of it.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."JEREMIAH 29:11

You don't have to walk into this month with everything figured out. You just have to walk into it with Him. That's enough. That's always been enough.

3. How can I make space for God's presence this month, even in the busy days?

Whatever July holds, you don't have to face it alone. Carry this prayer with you — pray it again on the hard days, and again on the good ones. Let it remind you that this month, like every month, is held in hands far bigger than yours.
