Day 44: A Love Letter from God About Rest You Haven’t Given Yourself

Day 44: A Love Letter from God About Your Weariness

MATTHEW 11:28

My child,

I see you counting down the hours again. Not because the day is bad, but because you're bracing for the moment you can finally stop holding everything up.

You've gotten so good at carrying things that you forgot you were ever allowed to set them down. You wake up already behind. You go to sleep still making lists. And somewhere in between, you started believing that this — the exhaustion, the running on fumes, the constant catching up — is just what a faithful, responsible life looks like.

It isn't. And I didn't ask you to prove your worth by how depleted you can become.

I know what it's like to look strong on the outside while you're empty on the inside. I know you keep showing up for everyone else's needs before you've tended to your own. I see the version of you nobody else does — the one who's tired in a way sleep doesn't fix.

Here is what I want you to hear today: rest is not the reward you earn after you've done enough. Rest is Mine to give, freely, right now, in the middle of everything still unfinished. I said come to Me, not come to Me once you're caught up. I meant it for exactly where you are.

You don't have to carry this alone. You never did. Let Me hold what's heavy while you breathe.

I love you,
God

A Prayer for When You're Running on Empty

Father, I'm tired in places rest hasn't reached. I've been carrying more than You ever asked me to. Teach me to bring my burdens to You instead of just enduring them. Remind me that slowing down isn't failing — it's trusting You with what I can't hold on my own. In Jesus' name, Amen.

If this letter met you right where you are, tell me below: what's one thing you're ready to set down today?
