Day 76: A Love Letter from God About Hoping Again
Day 76: A Love Letter from God
About Your Hope
My child,
You've been running on empty hope for a while now, haven't you? Not the dramatic kind of hopelessness that announces itself, but the quiet kind — the kind that just stops expecting things to change, that braces for disappointment before it even has a chance to happen. You've been protecting yourself by hoping less, and I understand why. Hope that keeps getting disappointed starts to feel dangerous.
But I don't want you to live braced and guarded forever. I am the God of hope, not the God who leaves you to manufacture it on your own strength. Real hope was never meant to come from your own optimism or your ability to talk yourself into believing things will work out. It comes from Me — I fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Me, so that hope overflows by the power of My Spirit, not by your own effort to feel hopeful.
I know some of what you hoped for hasn't come yet. Some of it might look different than you expected. That doesn't mean hope was foolish or that you were wrong to believe. It means the story isn't finished. I am still writing, still working, still moving in ways you can't see from where you're standing right now.
God says, "I am the God of hope. Let Me fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Me, until hope overflows in you by the power of My Spirit — not by your own strength."
You don't have to talk yourself into hope. You don't have to protect your heart by expecting the worst. Bring Me your tired, guarded, disappointed places, and let Me be the source your hope draws from instead of your own weary strength. I haven't run out of good things for your story. Let hope rise again, gently, because it comes from Me.
God
A Prayer to Renew Your Hope
Father, I've been guarding my heart by expecting less. Fill me with hope that comes from You, not from my own strength or optimism. Where I've stopped believing, help me trust You again. Let hope rise in me by Your Spirit, not by my effort. In Jesus' name, Amen.
