Day 81: A Love Letter from God About Waiting That Isn’t Wasted

Day 81: A Love Letter from God

 About Patience

JAMES 1:2-4

My child,

You're tired of waiting. Tired of the season stretching longer than you expected, tired of praying about the same thing without seeing it move, tired of feeling like patience is just another word for stuck. I know how much it costs you to keep showing up faithfully in a season that hasn't changed, day after day, without any sign of what's coming.

I want you to see this waiting differently. It is not wasted time, and it is not Me being slow or forgetful. Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance. I am not just making you wait for the sake of waiting — I am building something in you during this stretch that could not be built any other way. Character, depth, endurance. These don't grow in seasons of ease. They grow here, in the waiting you wish would end.

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. I know that sounds like small comfort when you just want the answer, the breakthrough, the thing you've been asking for. But I promise you, I am not wasting this time. I'm not letting a single day of your waiting go to nothing.

JAMES 1:2-4

God says, "Let perseverance finish its work in you, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. This waiting is not wasted — it is preparing you."

I see how hard this is. I see the specific thing you've been waiting on, and I have not forgotten it. Keep showing up faithfully in the waiting, trusting that I am working even in the silence, building in you what you'll need for what's coming. Your patience is not passive. It is holy ground.

I love you,
God

A Prayer for Patience

Father, I'm tired of waiting and I don't fully understand why this season is taking so long. Help me see this waiting as preparation, not punishment. Build perseverance in me. Help me trust that You are not wasting a single day of this. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What's one thing you're still waiting on that you're choosing to trust God with today?
