A Prayer Before Entering 

September


LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23

Another month is closing, and a new one is about to begin. Before you step into September, take a moment to pause — to release what didn't go the way you hoped in the last few months, and to welcome what's ahead with an open, expectant heart.

A Prayer for September

Father, thank You for bringing me to this new month. I lay down whatever I've been carrying from the last few — the disappointments, the unanswered prayers, the moments I didn't handle as well as I wanted to. Help me release it fully instead of dragging it into what's ahead.

As September begins, I ask for a fresh start — not because I've earned it, but because Your mercies are new every morning, and that means they're new for this month too. Give me clarity for what this season is asking of me. Give me strength for the routines, the responsibilities, and the transitions this month will bring.

Where I'm anxious about what's coming, replace that anxiety with trust. Where I'm tired before I've even started, renew my strength. Where I've been stuck, do a new thing in me, the way You promised in Isaiah 43:19 — make a way where I don't see one yet.

I don't know everything September holds, but You do. Walk ahead of me into this month, and walk beside me through it. Let me end it closer to You than I began it. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ISAIAH 43:19

God says, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way, even in this next season."

Whatever September holds, you don't have to walk into it bracing for it. You get to walk into it with Him — trusting that the same faithfulness that carried you through the last few months is more than enough for this one too.

A new month, held in faithful hands.

  If God Is for Us: Standing Strong in Unshakable Confidence “What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us? ” —  Romans 8:31 (NKJV)  There are few verses in the Bible as bold and reassuring as this one. Your people will be my people and your God my God.’” — Ruth 1:16 Ruth’s declaration to Naomi is one of the most powerful statements of faithfulness found in Scripture.   But He said to me,  ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” —  2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)  This verse is one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture. It reminds us that even when we reach the end of our own strength, we are never beyond the reach of God’s grace. The Apostle Paul wrote these words after pleading with God to remove what he called a “thorn in the flesh” — a constant struggle, pain, or limitation that troubled him deeply.
