Day 89: A Love Letter from God

 About Burnout


ISAIAH 40:29-31

My child,

You've been giving from a place that's run dry for a while now. Pouring into your work, your family, your ministry, the people who need you — showing up for everyone else while quietly falling apart on the inside. You keep telling yourself you'll rest once things slow down, but they never do, and you're running on fumes that ran out a while ago.

I see what burnout has cost you. The joy that used to come easily now feels like effort. The things you used to love have started to feel like one more obligation. You're exhausted in a way that sleep alone can't fix, because this isn't just physical tiredness — it's the depletion that comes from giving and giving without ever being refilled.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. I'm not asking you to push through on empty. I'm asking you to come to Me and let Me refill what's been poured out. You cannot manufacture strength you don't have. But I can give it.

ISAIAH 40:29,31

God says, "I give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Those who hope in Me will renew their strength. You don't have to run on empty anymore."

You are allowed to stop pouring long enough to be filled. You are allowed to say no, to rest, to step back from what's draining you, even if it feels like letting people down. I would rather you come to Me depleted than keep pretending you have more to give than you actually do. Let Me restore what's been worn thin. You don't have to earn this rest — it's already here for you.

A Prayer for Burnout

Father, I've been pouring out for so long without being refilled, and I'm running on empty. Help me stop pretending I have more to give than I do. Renew my strength the way only You can. Show me what I need to set down so You can restore me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

  If God Is for Us: Standing Strong in Unshakable Confidence “What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us? ” —  Romans 8:31 (NKJV)  There are few verses in the Bible as bold and reassuring as this one.   But He said to me,  ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” —  2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)  This verse is one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture. It reminds us that even when we reach the end of our own strength, we are never beyond the reach of God’s grace. The Apostle Paul wrote these words after pleading with God to remove what he called a “thorn in the flesh” — a constant struggle, pain, or limitation that troubled him deeply.
