Day 97: A Love Letter from God About What You Keep Reaching For 🕊️🕊️

Day 97: A Love Letter from God

 About Restlessness

PSALM 62:1

My child,

You can't seem to settle lately. There's a restlessness in you that won't quiet down, even when everything around you looks fine on paper. You keep reaching for the next thing — a distraction, a change, a new plan — trying to outrun a feeling you can't quite name, hoping something will finally make the unsettled feeling stop.

I want to gently remind you of something Augustine once wrote, a truth that's been true since I made you: your heart is restless until it finds its rest in Me. That restlessness isn't a flaw in you. It's a signal. You were made for connection with Me, and when you try to fill that need with anything else — busyness, achievement, escape, noise — it will never quite land. Something in you knows it's reaching for the wrong thing.

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Not from the next accomplishment. Not from finally getting everything sorted. Not from a life with zero uncertainty in it. Your soul was built to be still in Me specifically, and no amount of rearranging your circumstances will substitute for that.

PSALM 62:1

God says, "Truly your soul finds rest in Me. Your restlessness isn't a flaw — it's your heart reaching for the only place it was ever meant to settle."

Stop running from the restlessness and bring it to Me instead. You don't have to fix the unsettled feeling on your own or outpace it with more activity. Sit with Me. Let your soul do what it was made to do — find its quiet, its rest, its home, right here with Me.

I love you,
God

A Prayer for Restlessness

Father, I can't seem to settle, and I keep reaching for things that don't actually satisfy this feeling. Remind me that my soul finds its rest in You alone. Quiet the restlessness in me. Help me stop running and instead sit with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What's one thing you've been using to outrun restlessness that you're ready to bring to God instead?
